Tessa Rae Newman

Tessa Rae is no stranger to performing, whether in the singing arena as an artist, or as a competitor in the rodeo arena. Tessa Rae is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter who has one National Championship and two Reserve National Championships to her credit on her Working-Cow horse "Budd," and many barrel racing wins to her credit.

Breaking into the performing arena as an artist came naturally to her. Tessa Rae had competed on her horses since she was three-years-old. Performing in front of a national audience was very comfortable to her. Therefore, when Tessa Rae began singing, performing became second nature to her. This 18-year-old was raised and currently lives on a horse farm in central Oklahoma, where she writes songs with her mother.

This past year, as a 17-year-old, Tessa Rae has performed in Nashville at a showcase at BB King's with other talent such as Brad Cotter (winner of Nashville Star), T Graham Brown, and Stella Parton. She has also performed at the Gibson Theatre in Nashville, a concert for the troops returning from Iraq in Altus, OK, the Oklahoma Opry, Sorghum Day Festival. She also entertained the children of the Oklahoma Make-A-Wish Foundation by performing a concert at the Coca-Cola Events Center in Oklahoma City.

Tessa Rae has set goals for herself and doesn't see boundaries. Her winning personality, hard work, talent, and determination are the keys to her future success as an artist. Just as she set a goal to become a National Champion at the age of 10, Tessa Rae has set her sights on a successful music career. Her love for music, family, horses, friends, and country are surpassed by only one thing, her relationship with the Lord. Though there may be tough times, her relationship with God will see it through, and nothing will stand in her way. Watch out for this up and coming talent to make a huge splash in the country music industry!
